Empowering local farmers

sustaining ethical beauty

A Shared Vision for Sustainable Growth

Snail Farm Cambodia is driven by two clearly defined missions:

  • To deliver the highest-quality raw material to the cosmetic industry.
  • To raise the standard of living in surrounding communities through inclusive, locally rooted economic development.

For the latter, we have developed several axes of contribution:

$2,000 Worth of Snails

Collected from Local Youth

From the outset, we will source live snails from nearby villages, offering local children a fun and rewarding way to contribute to their families’ income. By turning this into an accessible and informal activity, we create an opportunity for youth to become engaged in a productive, seasonal venture that has a real economic impact. The initial collection budget is set at approximately $2,000..

Snail Feed

Up to $2,000/Month for Local Farmers

Our farm will rely on a steady supply of locally grown vegetables as feed for the snails. From early operations through peak production, our monthly feed budget is expected to range from $1,000 to $2,000, representing a direct injection into the local farming economy.
To ensure quality and sustainability, we will work only with organic or near-organic produce. With the support of Green Farmers, we will provide training and technical guidance to help participating farmers adapt to low-chemical or chemical-free practices, in line with our feeding standards. This will also allow us to select the specific crops best suited for optimal snail nutrition.
At full capacity, we aim to work with 20 local farmers, each generating an estimated $100 in additional income per month. According to available local data, this represents an average income increase of 40% per family—a substantial improvement in household resilience and long-term well-being.

SNAIL MUCIN FROM CAMBODIA

Satellite Snail Farms

A Scalable Social Enterprise Model from Day One

From Year 1, Snail Farm Cambodia will launch its satellite farm program—a key pillar of our community impact and scale strategy. This model allows us to decentralize production, extend economic benefits to rural households, and ensure a steady, high-quality supply of fresh snail mucin.
Each satellite farm will be operated by a local farmer or family, trained by our technical team to reproduce the same standards as our central facility. Snail Farm Cambodia will invest in the full setup, including:

  • Building the snail park infrastructure
  • Supplying starter stock and tools
  • Providing hands-on training and ongoing technical support

We will guarantee the purchase of a fixed quantity of fresh mucin each month, with pricing indexed to the global market for dried mucin. This ensures fair compensation and protects farmers from volatility.
Based on our cost and yield projections, participating farmers could earn up to $400/month, representing a 100% increase in income for many.

The number of satellite farms will scale according to market demand:

Rollout Plan (2026–2031)
Y1 3 farms
Y2 6 farms
Y3 12 farms
Y4 20 farms
Y5 30 farms

As always, priority will be given to women-led households or multigenerational families with strong female representation. This gender lens ensures that our growth contributes directly to more inclusive and equitable rural development.
The satellite farm program creates long-term, dignified work for Cambodian families while increasing production capacity in line with demand. It’s a replicable model that combines economic empowerment with high-value, export-ready agriculture.

SNAIL MUCIN FROM CAMBODIA

The Snail Farm Foundation

Empowering the Local Ecosystem

Once our core operations reach a stable production pace, we will extend our impact beyond farming by actively promoting our region as a “snail mucin village”—an agro-tourism and educational hub inspired by successful models like Les Artisans d’Angkor’s silk farm in Siem Reap.

Through the Snail Farm Foundation, we aim to support and uplift the local community in multiple ways:

  • Organize guided tours for both local and international visitors to experience mucin farming firsthand
  • Sponsor language courses (English, French, Japanese, Chinese) to improve hospitality and job readiness
  • Lead community clean-up campaigns to keep the village welcoming and environmentally friendly
  • Assist in setting up local cafés and restaurants, offering micro-financing and training
  • Establish a store selling snail-mucin-based products (including our own dried mucin)
  • Develop branded merchandise to attract and engage visitors

The Foundation will provide both capacity-building and small grants or loans, acting as a community micro-bank for emerging entrepreneurs. With this initiative, Snail Farm Cambodia aims not only to create stable income streams but to transform a rural area into a self-sustaining, thriving ecosystem rooted in innovation, education, and pride of place.
